Coated Vicryl Absorbable Suture, Violet Braided, S-29 Needle, Size 6/0, 18" is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of polyglactin 910. The suture is coated to enhance smooth tissue passage and reduce drag during suturing. The violet coloration improves visibility for precise handling and placement in various surgical applications. It is designed specifically for general soft tissue approximation and ligation.

The suture offers excellent knot security, maintaining reliable knot integrity on the first throw. The braided construction provides flexibility and ease of handling, facilitating efficient wound closure. The S-29 needle is a spatula needle with a 1/4 circle shape, ideal for delicate tissues such as those encountered in ophthalmic procedures. 

Tensile strength retention is significant, with approximately 50% of the original strength maintained after three weeks, supporting wound healing during the critical early phases. Complete mass absorption occurs between 56 and 76 days through hydrolysis, eliminating the need for suture removal and reducing foreign body presence in tissues.
